Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst that gives polyolefin of high molecular weight and high stereoregularity.
SOLUTION: The objective catalyst component for olefin polymerization (the component A) is a transition metal compound represented by formula [I] (M is a transition metal selected from Ti, Zr and Hf; R1 is a 1-6C, monovalent hydrocarbon residue or a Si-including hydrocarbon residue; R2 is a 4-20C, divalent hydrocarbon residue or a Si-including hydrocarbon residue; R3 is a 1-30C, divalent hydrocarbon residue or Si- or Geincluding hydrocarbon residue; X and Y are each H, a halogen, a monovalent 1-20C hydrocarbon residue, N-, O- or Si-including hydrocarbon residue).
