Abstract:
The manufacturing method involves forming grooves (132) in a gas component path that is provided with a substrate (110) comprising an outer surface (112). The grooves are provided with a base (134) and a top (146) which extends along the substrate. A structural coating (54) is applied on a portion of the substrate. A portion of a structural coating surface is processed so as to deform the structural coating in a vicinity of a respective top groove, such that a gap across the groove top is reduced. An independent claim is included for a hot gas path component.
