Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve balance of a friction property, by adding zirconium silicate to an inorganic filler as a component of a friction material, in an amount of the zirconium silicate being 0.1W5.0vol% of the entire component.

CONSTITUTION: A component of resin mold friction material for a clutch is composed of at least an inorganic fiber, a resin binder, an inorganic filler and an organic filler. The inorganic filler includes zirconium silicate of 0.1W5.0vol% supposing that the entire component is of a 100vol%. When a ratio of addition of the zirconium silicate is less than 0.1vol%, a minimum friction coefficient decreases. When it is 0.1vol% or more, in particular 0.3vol% or more, the minimum friction ratio increases as compared with a conventional case so that an excellent product can be obtained. When the ratio of addition of 5.0vol% or more is not preferable because a volume abrasion ratio increases. As a result, a friction property is excellently balanced with the range as mentioned above.
