Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide components with double sided cooling features and methods of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method includes: providing a substrate; forming one or more grooves into an outer surface of the substrate or into a coating layer disposed on the outer surface of the substrate; and forming one or more grooves into an inner surface of the substrate or into a coating layer disposed on the inner surface of the substrate, to define one or more cooling grooves on the inner surface of the substrate. The method further includes applying a structural coating over at least one of a portion of the outer surface of the substrate or a portion of the coating disposed on the outer surface of the substrate to define one or more cooling channels on the outer surface of the substrate. A component is disclosed fabricated according to the method.
