Title:
COMPOSITE ARTICLE OF CARBON MEMBER WITH COPPER MEMBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1112052
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to bond a carbon member to a copper member at a lower temperature than the melting point of copper by metallically bonding the carbon member to the copper member with a Ni-Cr-P alloy foil or a composition comprising the powder of the alloy and an organic material. SOLUTION: This composite product of a carbon member with a copper member is obtained by preparing an Ni-Cr-P alloy foil comprising 74-84 wt.% of Ni, 6-16 wt.% of Cr and 5-15 wt.% of P or a pasty brazing material comprising Ni-Cr-P alloy powder dispersing in an organic material, disposing the foil or the brazing material between the carbon member and the copper member and subsequently heating the combination in a non-oxidizing atmosphere at a higher temperature than the melting point of the brazing material to react the Ni and the Cr in the brazing material with the carbon of the carbon member. Thus, Ni carbide and Cr carbide are produced in the bonding portion to form a bonding layer. When a heat-receiving plate in which a cooling pipe is disposed is produced, one surface of a carbon fiber-carbon composite material 1 having a prescribed shape and one surface of a copper member 2 are processed to form a circle having the approximately same diameter as that of the cooling pipe 3. A 79Ni-11Cr-10P alloy foil 4 having a prescribed thickness is disposed between the copper cooling pipe 3 and the composite member 1 and the copper member 2, and subsequently heated in a non-oxidizing atmosphere to form a bonding portion comprising Ni carbide and Cr carbide.
