Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preclude printing operation from being carried out in a loaded state of either a tape cassette or a ribbon cassette, and lessen the number of detecting switches required.
SOLUTION: When a tape cassette 50 is loaded in the printer, detecting activators 86 of the tape cassette 50 are projected upward by each detecting switch 83 at the printer side. In this condition, when a ribbon cassette is loaded on the tape cassette 50, each detecting switch 83 is selectively press operated via the activator 86 through the detected part 90 and release holes 91, and each loading of both the tape cassette 50 and ribbon cassette 60 is detected with the consequence that the sort of a tape in the tape cassette 50 and the sort of an ink ribbon in the ribbon cassette 60 are detected.
