PURPOSE: To exhibit damping effect without fail even in the case of earthquakes of moderate magnitude.
CONSTITUTION: Two kinds of steel materials 10a and 10b which are in the same or similar cross sections, or in cross sections which available for mutual fitness and are different in yield point are joined or fitted together at least at one surface along their longitudinal direction, and thereby a composite damping steel material 10 is made up. In this composite damping steel material 10, energy absorption effect is produced by hysteresis loop made by composition of stress-strain diagrams of these two steel materials when stress is produced between yield points of both of the steel materials 10a and 10b, and thereby a specified damping effect can be ends wed.
