Abstract:
To provide a composite fiber capable of manufacturing a soft elastomer molded product having sufficient strength and having a high density without causing a trouble such as resin adhesion to a metal roller during thermocompression bonding, and a method for manufacturing a non-woven fabric using the composite fibers.SOLUTION: There is provided a composite fiber that is a sea-island type composite fiber containing a component A made of a thermoplastic elastomer as a sea component and a component B made of a thermoplastic polymer as an island component, or a sheath-core type composite fiber having a component A made of a thermoplastic elastomer as a sheath component and a component B made of a thermoplastic polymer as a core component. There is also provided a method for manufacturing a non-woven fabric, comprising: mixing the composite fibers and thermoplastic synthetic fibers having a single fiber diameter of 0.1 to 5 μm to form a non-woven fabric; thermocompression bonding the obtained non-woven fabric to melt the component A of the composite fibers; and compositely integrating the fibers composed of the component B and the thermoplastic synthetic fibers.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
