Abstract:
PURPOSE: To surely manufacture a composite insulator excellent in quality by arranging sheaths continuously aligned with plural mold portions at intervals between adjacent opposite end sections, and filling a relay insulating material in the gaps to integrate the sheaths.
CONSTITUTION: In the first process, a circular ring is fitted and positioned on a core rod at the front and rear end sections of the cavity of a die, and an insulating polymer material is injected into the die and hardened. The foremost mold portion 12a and plural shade sections are molded on the core rod. In the second process, the die is opened, the core rod is moved in the axial direction by a prescribed distance, the same molding as in the first process is repeated, and a required number of mold portions corresponding to the whole length of an insulator are molded on the core rod. In the third process, the core rod is taken out. In the fourth process, a thermosetting resin is filled in the gap between the front and rear mold portions 12a, 12b as a relay insulating material 14, a circular jig 27 is fitted, and a band heater 28 is excited for integrally hardening the thermosetting resin.
