Abstract:
Anodes in a composite material are formed on a support made of fibrils. These fibrils are coated with a conducting layer of copper 3-10 microns thick which is then covered with a layer of cadmium 3-10 microns thick and finally with a layer of zinc of greater than 20 microns thick. Pref. these anodes are contained in a semipermeable cellulose membrane which contains an alkaline electrolyte satd. in zincate. Pref. this electrolyte is gelified to give a viscosity of greater than 20,000 centipoise. The accumulators in which these anodes are used also have a cathode with a nickel base. Used for accumulators with zinc electrodes. Improves the efficiency and conditions of operations of accumulators with zinc electrodes.
