To provide a composite material having high adsorptivity of nitrogen oxide even at low temperature and in a gas atmosphere containing water.SOLUTION: A composite material has noble metal and zeolite. The zeolite includes lta in its skeleton, with the molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 being 11 or more.
