Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a composite material having thermomechanical properties adjustable between isotropic and remarkably anisotropic nature, by using a reinforcing material consisting of a three-dimensional 7-axial fabric having fiber orientation directions along 4 axes constituting farthest diagonals of a cube or rectangular parallelepiped and 3 axes constituting the sides of the cube, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective composite material is produced by using a reinforcing material consisting of a three-dimensional 7-axial fabric having fiber orientation directions along 4 axes U, V, W and T constituting farthest diagonals of a cube or rectangular parallelepiped and 3 axes X, Y and Z constituting the sides of the cube, etc. When the fiber contents in all of the above 7 axes are equalized, the elastic modulus and thermal expansion coefficient, etc., are made to be isotropic in all direction of the composite material and when the fiber content in arbitrary one axis among the 7 axes is increased or decreased, the obtained composite material exhibits remarkable anisotropy in one direction.
