Abstract:

To provide a membrane for separating especially, a carbon dioxide from a mixed gas, and a separation method.

This membrane contains an orientated polytetrafluoroethylene as a support layer 20 and a polysiloxane as an active layer 30, and the active layer 30 may further contain a porous ceramic. In addition, the membrane features the following advantages: high stability, high flow, excellent durability under severe environments, separability of a carbon dioxide from a mixed gas at high temperature, e.g. an exhaust gas at a power plant, high strength, successful selectivity and significant tear strength.
