Title:
COMPOSITE METALLIZING WIRE AND METHOD OF USING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06235057
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a conductive wire having hard sprayed coating excellent in wear resistance by applying conductive metallic plating contg. solid lubricant particles and wear resistant particles on the surface of a core wire, thereafter passing it through a thermalizing through-flow chamber and melting the plating layer.

CONSTITUTION: A conductive metallic core wire 11 of Ni, Fe, Cu, Cr, Al or the like is passed through a plating soln. 21 contg. metallic ions 15 of Ni or the like dispersedly contg. the fine solid lubricant particles 12 of graphite, BN, MoS2 or the like and the hard wear resistant particles 13 or SiC, TiC or the like, and power is applied to the space between the core wire 11 as a cathode and an insoluble anode 22 by a power source 23 to form an adhesive metal 15 composed of an Ni composite plating layer 14 contg. the solid lubricant particles 12 and the wear resistant particles 13 on the surface of the conductive metallic core wire 11, and the surface is coated with a protective sheath 90 by Cu. By passing this wire rod through a thermalizing through- flow chamber generating high temp. flame of 3,000 to 3,100°C, the adhesive metallic layer 15 and the protective sheath 90 are melted to produce a conductive metallic composite metallizing wire having a thermally sprayed surface layer excellent in lubricity and wear resistance.
