Abstract:
To provide a composite capable of protecting a graphite base material against a molten metal as well as against vapor of a metal and a product gas, and to provide a method for producing the same, capable of protecting the graphite base material against the molten metal as well as against the vapor of the metal and the product gas.SOLUTION: A composite comprises: a porous base material; and a coating layer, consisting of an expanded graphite, for covering a surface of the base material, wherein the coating layer is joined to the base material with the expanded graphite penetrating into an open pore formed on a layer part of the base material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1B
