Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a thin composite sintered frictional material by an inexpensive process.

This invention is related to a frictional material used for a mechanism transmitting frictional force by making it contact with the mating member and executing frictional sliding, and the frictional material is the composite sintered frictional material in which, in a state in which raw material metal powder is brought into contact with a base material, heating is executed, by which each metal powder is sintered and bonded to form a sintered material, and the sintered material and the base material are bonded, and, in the case the thickness of the sintered material is defined as T1, and the thickness of the base material is defined as T2, the ratio of T1/T2 satisfies the inequality of 0<T1/T2≤2.
