Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manufacture various composite tapered porcelain tubes corresponding to plural voltage grades with only the minimum manufacturing facility and markedly reduce the product cost.
CONSTITUTION: Outer covers 12A, 12B, 12C and plural shades 13A, 13B, 13C arranged apart from each other in the axial direction are integrally molded with an insulating polymer material on the outer peripheries of hollow taper core sections 11A, 11B, 11C made of a fiber-reinforced plastic to form composite tapered porcelain tubes 10A, 10B, 10C. The core sections 11A, 11B, 11C of the composite taper porcelain tubes 10A, 10B, 10C corresponding to plural voltage grades are molded with a mandrel assembly combined with plural mandrel members. The core sections 11A, 11B, 11C thus molded are set in a die unit in response to the voltage grade of the composite tapered porcelain tube to be manufactured, the insulating polymer material is injected into a die cavity, and the outer covers 12A, 12B, 12C and the shades 13A, 13B, 13C are integrally molded.
