Title:
COMPOSITE THERMOELECTRIC CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3448094
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To convert thermal energy to electric energy effectively.
CONSTITUTION: This device has the solid-state electrolyte 02 which surrounds a high-temperature heat source 01, an inside porous electrode 03a and an outside porous electrode 03b, a semiconductor thermoelectric converter 012 (which has an outer tube, a p-type thermoelectric semiconductor 05, an n-type thermoelectric semiconductor 06, the outermost tube 08, and electric insulating sections 07a, 07b) which surrounds all these parts, and a wick which is installed from the bottom face of the outer tube 04 across to the high-temperature heat source 01 and which includes an operating medium. The operating medium which is evaporated by the high-temperature heat source 01 is partially condensed and ionized by the inside porous electrode 03a and, after that, passes through the solid-state electrolyte 02 and generates electricity. After that, the ions and electrons are bonded again to become steam. In the semiconductor thermoelectric converter 012, electricity is further generated by the thermal energy transmitted by the steam of the operating medium.
