PURPOSE: To shield the leakage magnetic fluxes from another magnetic head and to decrease the crossinterferences of recording and reproduced signals.

CONSTITUTION: This composite type magnetic head is constituted by disposing a pair of the magnetic heads 57, 58 formed with magnetic gaps g1, g2 having azimuth angles θ1, θ2 varying from each other in proximity to face each other in the traveling direction of the heads and is provided with thin films 93, 94 of good conductors which shield the leakage magnetic fluxes from the magnetic gaps g1, g2 of these magnetic heads 57, 58 on the opposite surface 62b, 77b facing each other of these magnetic heads 57, 58.
