PURPOSE: To obtain a composite-type ultraviolet absorber having high safety to human body and stable even in a state added to a cosmetic, etc., by coating the surface of a polymer fine powder and/or inorganic fine powder containing ultraviolet absorber with a metal oxide.
CONSTITUTION: Surface of polymer fine powder and/or inorganic fine powder containing an ultraviolet absorber such as benzophenone compound, salicylic acid derivative or imidazole compound is coated with a metal oxide selected from silicon dioxide, titanium oxide and aluminum oxide. The polymer fine powder is fine powder of a synthetic resin such as amide resin, acrylate resin, styrene resin or epoxy resin or a natural polymer such as chitin or cellulose and the inorganic fine powder is fine powder of mica, talc, kaolin, apatite, etc.
