A composite vane pump is formed such that the main part 12a side of the first drive shaft 12 of a first vane pump 1 and the tip part 32d side of the second drive shaft 32 of a second vane pump 21 form a corresponding involute spline and by inserting them in the tip side and the main side of a joining hole 13a in series, joining with a first rotor 13 is effected. A drive gear G is fixed on the tip part 12d side of the first drive shaft 12. A joining state with a joining hole 13a with the main part 12a of the first drive shaft 12 and the tip part 32d side of the second drive shaft 32 is produced such that joining is effected with a given length or more ensured, and joining is executed such that slide fit-in of the first drive shaft 12 side is effected and free fit-in of the second drive shaft 32 side is performed.
