To obtain the subject composite that can be used to form an anti-static layer effective for photographic products by using an organic polymer and a macromolecular aluminosilicate salt as bases.
Mixed Al and Si alkoxides (or their precursors) are maintained at a molar ratio of 1-3 Al/Si at a pH of 4-6.5 and treated with an aqueous alkali so that the concentration of Al is adjusted to 5×10-4-10-2 M finally. The resultant reaction mixture is heated in the presence of silanol group at a temperature lower than the boiling point of water, at which macromolecular aluminosilicate salt is formed, of a time enough to react completely. Then, resultant mixture is deionized. The above-stated two steps are carried out in a water-soluble organic polymer that is stable in a pH range of 4-7 and substantially forms no chelate with Al3+ ion. The resultant composite has a peak near 867cm-1 shifting by smaller than 5cm-1 to the peak corresponding to the fibrous macromolecular aluminosilicate in the FT Raman spectra.
