Abstract:
To provide a composition that has high biological safety and contributes to the activation of PGC-1α and also to provide the use of a composition for activating PGC-1α and a method for activating PGC-1α.SOLUTION: A composition for activating PGC-1α contains at least one compound selected from the group of naturally occurring compounds consisting of chalcone, alkaloid, anthraquinone, isoflavan, isoflavone, ellagic acid, coumarin, diarylheptanoid, diterpenoid, sesquiterpene, triterpene, neoflavone, phytochemical, flavanonol, flavanone, flavonol, flavone, and lignan. This invention provides novel and effective means contributing to improving endurance, promoting myocyte hypertrophy, suppressing obesity, reducing stress, improving sugar metabolic functions, and suppressing muscular atrophy.SELECTED DRAWING: None
