To provide a composition having rotavirus infection preventing action.
The composition against infection with rotavirus is a microfiltration retentate of whey, a product obtained by treating whey using centrifugation and/or ammonium sulfate precipitation, or a dehydrated product thereof. The micropore diameter of a microfiltration membrane ranges from 0.004 to 1.4 μm. The centrifugal force in centrifugation ranges from 300 to 30,000 g. The saturation level in ammonium sulfate precipitation ranges from 30 to 100%. The whey is centrifuged/purified and adjusted to approximately neutral pH (6.8-7.2), and then, treated with the microfiltration membrane. Further, after a process, wherein water is added to the retentate and then the retentate is subjected to microfiltration treatment, is repeated several times (usually three times), the retentate is dehydrated by a conventional method.
