To obtain a composition for a building material that is excellent in weatherability, stain resistance and drying properties when used outdoors.
This composition for the building material comprises a mixture of acrylic polymers consisting of (a) an acrylic polymer having a carbon-to-carbon double bond represented by formula (1) at a terminal end thereof and (b) an acrylic polymer other than the acrylic polymer (a) wherein the concentration of the carbon-to-carbon double bond is not less than 0.1 meq/g. In formula (1), R denotes a 1-20C alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group or an alkoxysilyl alkyl group and X denotes an acrylic polymer chain containing 40 mass% or more (meth)acrylic ester unit as the constituting unit and having a number average molecular weight of 500-30,000.
