PURPOSE: To obtain the captioned composition which can clearly indicate the term of effectiveness of a product by the tone of color and is suited for an aromatic, a vermicide and the like by mixing a pH indicator causing the change of color tone with the specified pH with an acid material.
CONSTITUTION: The captioned composition can be obtained by mixing the pH indicator causing the change of color tone with the pH 0 to 7, such as cresol red, thymol blue, dimethyl yellow, methyl orange and Congo Red, with the acid material showing volatility, such as salicylic acid, acetic acid, benzoic acid, apple acid, maleic acid and hydrochloric acid. When the composition thus prepared is added to the aromatic, a smell-removing agent, the vermicide, a fertilizer for gardening and the like, the acid material volatilizes gradually with the passage of time during the employment of the product and the pH changes, whereby the tone of color of the pH indicator also changes. Accordingly, a consumer can easily discriminate in accordance with the tone of color of the product whether the product is within the term of effectiveness thereof or outside.
