Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition comprising a sulfur-containing organosilicon compound mixture which can improve the adhesion of a resin to a metal such as copper or iron steel or an inorganic substance such as a glass fiber or silica by reacting a specified dialkylamine with an epoxysilane and to obtain a surface treating agent or resin additive containing the same.
SOLUTION: This composition comprises a sulfur-containing organosilicon compound mixture obtained by reacting a dialkylamine represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are each a 1-5C alkyl) with an epoxysilane represented by formula II (wherein R3 is a group of formula III; R4 and R5 are each a 1-5C alkyl or an alkoxyalkyl; m is an integer of 1-10; n is an integer of 1-3; and 1 is an integer of 2-10) by heating at 40-200°C. This mixture is produced by reacting 1 mol of the dialkylamine with 0.1-10 mol of the epoxysilane. This composition may be used alone or in the form of a mixture with another silane or titanate coupling agent or the like.
