Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel composition useful as a refrigerant liquid, a heat medium liquid, a foaming agent, a solvent cleaner of the like and low in ozone layer depletion coefficient, global warming coefficient and toxicity.SOLUTION: There is provided a composition which is a combination containing a Z stereoisomer and an E stereoisomer of hydrofluoroolefin represented by CF-CH=CHCl and having the Z isomer having higher toxicity of about less than 30 wt.% (to the total of Z+E) for suppressing toxic effect at minimum during use. The composition is manufactured by a reactive distillation in presence of Lewis acid catalyst such as fluorinated alumina of an isomer mixture followed by distillation, extractive distillation, membrane separation and an adsorption separation by molecular sieve.
