To provide grease that can adjust, in a desired manner, characteristics such as sedimentation stability, transparency, oil separation, drop point, penetration, consistency, shear stability, friction value and abrasion behavior and has even a synergistic effect thereof, and to provide a preparation method of the same and a composition of the same.
A composition includes at least one kind of specific noncrosslinkable organic media having a viscosity less than 30,000 mPa s, very preferably less than 200 mPa s, at 120°C, at least one kind of microgels, and at least one kind of thickeners. The microgel is a crosslinked polymer based on rubber, the microgel having primary particles with a mean particle size of 50-500 nm, preferably less than 99 nm, having a toluene-insoluble part of at least about 70 wt.% at 23°C, and having a swelling index less than 80. The composition is prepared by mixing the noncrosslinkable media, the microgels, and optionally thickeners in a homogenizer, a pearl mill, a three-roll mill and/or a melting machine.
