PURPOSE: To obtain a composition which can be disposed of by burning without forming any toxic compounds by mixing an unsaturated elastomer with a specified polyphenylmethane type plasticizer.
CONSTITUTION: This composition contains an unsaturated elastomer and a polyphenylmethane type plasticizer in an amount sufficient to lower the glass transition temperature of the elastomer to convert it into a rubber. The plasticizer used is a compound represented by formula I (wherein R1, R2 and R4 are at least one type of radicals of formula II; and R3s are at least one type of radicals of formula III). It is possible to use a small amount of a paraffinic oil in combination with this plasticizer. The unsaturated elastomer used is exemplified by a polynorbornene, SBR, a polybutadiene or the like.
