Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic composition containing a neuropeptide Y (NPY)- antagonist component and capable of adjusting lipolysis/lipid biosynthesis in skin without deteriorating the natural functions of the skin.
SOLUTION: This composition contains a NPY-antagonist component and a cosmetic excipient. The NPY-antagonist component is selected from non- peptide synthetic compounds, peptides, the extracts of cells or tissues originating from animals or plants, and products originating from the fermented products of microorganisms, and is contained in an amount of 0.00001-5wt.%. α-2 Antagonist component is preferably also contained. The composition can be applied to skin and/or hair, or to sites covered with the hair, and is especially useful as an adjuvant for reducing weight, inhibiting seborrhea and treating acne.
