Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a topical composition containing dehydroepi-androsterone sulfate, capable of treating wrinkle and skin looseness and effectively tensing skin tissue and reviving skin luster. SOLUTION: This cosmetic or dermatologic composition contains 0.00001-5 wt.%, preferably 0.001-0.5 wt.% dehydroepi-androsterone sulfate as an active ingredient. The composition may further contain a hydrophilic or lipophilic active agent (e.g. retinoids) and hormones other than dehydroepi-androsterone sulfate (e.g. progesterone). The composition is properly formulated with conventional additives as other components and can be formulated in the form of solution, dispersion, gel, emulsion, vesicle dispersant, fine particles, microcapsules, etc. The composition treats relaxation of slightly undulated skin, loosening, subcutaneous relaxation, etc., caused by endogenic and/or exogenous aging.
