PURPOSE: To provide a composition for external use, having transparency, high structural viscosity and excellent shape-retainability, giving comfortable feeling to the skin, free from oozing of silicone oil with time, having high stability and useful as a cosmetic, pharmaceutical agent for external use, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The external agent composition having the above effects can be produced by compounding (A) a dialkylphosphoric acid polyvalent metal salt expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 are 8-36C, preferably 12-22C hydrocarbon group; M is n-valent metal ion such as aluminum ion, calcium ion or iron ion; n is 2 or 3), (B) a benzoic acid ester of formula II (R3 is 8-17C hydrocarbon group) and (C) a silicone oil, preferably a low-viscosity silicone oil, especially an oil having a viscosity of ≤50cs or thereabout as a lubricant. The weight ratios A:B:C are preferably 1:(1-100):(1-100) and the concentration of the component A in the composition is preferably 0.1-10wt.%.
