To obtain the subject composition having good skin persistence by compounding a medicine for dermal administration, an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol fatty acid ester, and butylene glycol, etc.
This composition for external use, having a pH of 4-9, when diluted into a 20-fold volume with purified water, comprises (A) a dermal administration medicine (preferably a compound having a mol.wt. of 150-550 and a melting point of 100-300°C, e.g. a steroid agent) in an amount of 0.01-10 wt.% based on the preparation, (B) an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol fatty acid ester (preferably glycerol monoisostrearate, propylene glycol monoisostearate) in an amount of 0.1-25 wt.%, and (C) at least one of 1,3-butylene glycol or dipropylene glycol in an amount of 0.05-50 pts.wt. per pt.wt. of the component B.
