Abstract:

To provide a composition for the filler in a cable used for electrical communication.

This composition for the filler in the cable uses a styrene- butadiene copolymer having a radial structure as a gelatinizer. The copolymer can be provided by sequentially polymerizing styrene and butadiene, reacting with the coupling agent of Cl4-nMRn type (M=Sn or Si, R = alkyl or aryl base, n is the integer of 0 to 2), and hydrogenating thus obtained copolymer. By this type of copolymer, a larger stability can be given to the final properties of a gel than that of a conventional linear hydrogenated synthetic rubber.
