Abstract:
PURPOSE: To synergistically enhance herbicidal effects on weeds without losing the selectivity of benfuresate for cultivated plants, especially rice by using the benfuresate and a herbicide in combination.
CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises (a) benfuresate and (b) a herbicide selected from (4-chloro-2-metnylphenoxy)-acetic acid(MCPA), bifenox, bensulide, thiobencarb, quinclorac, piperophos, 4-(4-chloro-2-methylphenoxy)-butyric acid(MCPB), simetryin and molinate at (1:10) to (10:1) weight ratio of the components (a):(b). The composition has higher herbicidal activities than those of individual components and further those of the sum total of the individual components and synergistic effects. The composition is used by a post-emergent method for treatment and the total amount of the components (a) and (b) used is 0.001-5kg/ha. Furthermore, the selectivity is found in cultivated plants, especially rice.
