PURPOSE: To obtain a liquid compsn. capable of producing colorless, colored or photochromic org. glass by radical polymn.
CONSTITUTION: A compsn. contains polymerizable allyl carbonate, a polymn initiator capable of generating free radicals under a polymn. condition and, if desired, a dye and/or a photochromic compd. The above polymerizable allyl carbonate (A) is at least one poly(allyl carbonate) being a linear or branched aliphatic 3-10C polyol or a cyclic aliphatic 5-16C polyol and this polyol contains 2-6 hydroxyl groups in its molecule and the poly(allyl carbonate) takes a form of a monomer or a form of a mixture of a monomer and an oligomer, and the above polymn. initiator (B) being a free radical generating agent is at least one compd. selected from a perketal group. The above photochromic compd. (C) is at least one org. photochromic compd. selected from the group consisting of spiropyrane, spiro-oxazine, chromene and fulgide and the above dye (D) is at least one org. dye.
