To make the aftertaste of a composition for oral cavity containing a base having a sweetness refreshing without leaving a heavy sweetness derived from the base.

This composition for oral cavity is obtained by including a base having a sweetness [ingredient (a)] and a terpene alcohol-based bitter substance [ingredient (b)] for masking the heavy sweetness thereof in the composition for the oral cavity. A chain terpene alcohol such as linalool, linalyl acetate, geraniol, genaryl acetate, citronellol or citronellyl acetate or its derivative or a cyclic terpene alcohol such as menthol, pulegol or menthyl acetate or its derivative can be used as the terpene alcohol-based bitter substance of the ingredient (b).
