To obtain a composition for the oral cavity having an excellently chemically inhibitory effect on the formation of stain on the tooth plane caused by a nonenzymic browning in the oral cavity, capable of controlling the stain of a part which a brush does not reach, extremely improving a chemically beautifying effect in the oral cavity and reducing the amount of an abrasive material in the case of preparing a dentifrice due to such high chemically beautifying effect.
This composition for the oral cavity comprises one or more straight-chain or cyclic water-soluble polyphosphates of general formula I: Mn+2 PnO2n+1 and general formula II: (MPO3)m (M is Na or K; (n) is an integer of ≥2 and (m) is an integer of ≥3) and one or more selected from lysine, histidine, guanidine and their derivative (with the proviso that when the derivative is an amino acid polymer, the number of amino acid residue is ≤3).
