To provide an artificial clay composition which is composed of an environmentally friendly material and exhibits water resistance, and in some cases, water repellency after kneading with water and curing.SOLUTION: The hydraulic artificial clay composition according to the present invention includes: glue derived from starch swollen in the presence of sodium hydroxide; reactive-crystallized calcium carbonate powders contained as being dispersed in the glue; sodium hydroxide; water; and a hydrolysate of a fatty acid polyester with an alkali.SELECTED DRAWING: None
