Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a compositions to treat waste water containing heavy metals by mixing each specific amount of natrolite, montmorillonite, calcium hydroxide, aluminum sulphate and catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: A composition containing 30-40 wt.% natrolite [Na2Al2Si3O10.2H2 O], 20-30 wt.% montmorillonite [component; SiO2, Al2O3, Na2O or the liked, 20-30 wt.% calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)2], 1.5-3.5 wt.% aluminum sulphate [Al2(SO4)3.7H2O] and 10.0-15.0 wt.% catalyst [MgO] is added to a waste water containing various heavy metals, particularly Cu, Ni, Zn, Fe, Pb, Cr6+ and cyan compound. Then heavy metal atoms or their ions in the solution are absorbed by micro pores in the natrolite. The natrolite also substitutes other cation in order to supplement shortage of anions. The composition is effective in treating waste water and in deodorizing function and decreasing chemical oxygen demand(COD) remarkably.
