Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a compsn. useful as a low-calorie high-temp. cooking medium having increased thermal stability by incorporating a fatty acid ester having a specified iodine number and an aliphatic ether. CONSTITUTION: This compsn. contains about 10-90wt.% fatty acid ester having an iodine number of at least about 10, preferably 12-24C fatty acid ester of glycerol and about 10-90wt.% aliphatic ether, preferably esterified alkoxylated polyol having repeating units of oxyethylene, oxytrimethylene, oxypropylene, oxytetramethylene or oxybutylene and having a number average mol.wt. of about 250-30,000 or polyether having repeating units of oxyalkylene such as satd. aliphatic polyether.
