Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the subject composition excellent in stability, moldability, vibration-damping property, etc., by adding specified amounts of flaky, powdery and fibrous fillers to a resin component comprising an epoxy compound, a polyphenol and an imidazole.

CONSTITUTION: An epoxy compound (e.g., bisphenol A epoxy resin) is mixed with a polyphenol (e.g., bisphenol A) and an imidazole (e.g., 2-methylimidazole) as a curing agent (cure accelerator). 100pts.wt. obtained resin-forming component is mixed with 50W500pts.wt. flaky filler (e.g., mica or glass flake), at most 200pts.wt. powdery filler (e.g., ferrite or silica) and at most 100pts.wt. fibrous filler (e.g., alumina or polypropylene fiber) to produce a composition for vibration-damping material.
