Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide safe, effective, and nontoxic dosages and dosage regimens of compounds for treating or preventing nonsense mutation associated diseases, such as hereditary disease, cancer, autoimmune disease, blood diseases, collagen disease, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disease.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for maintaining a plasma concentration higher than about 2 μg/ml for at least 12 hours by administering three times a day 3-[5-(2-fluoro-phenyl)-[1,2,4] oxadiazole-3-yl]-benzoic acid represented by the following formula, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, or hydrate thereof in an amount of 4 mg/kg as a first dosage, 4 mg/kg as a second dosage, and 8 mg/kg as a third dosage.
