Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide oral dosage forms such as pharmaceutical, nutritional or dietary supplement products comprising emulsion or emulsion preconcentrate formulations of ω-3 fatty acids.SOLUTION: Provided herein is an emulsion composition comprising: an aqueous phase comprising an aqueous liquid; an oil phase comprising an ω-3 fatty acid oil; and a surfactant, where the emulsion has a median particle size of about from 100 nm to 3 μm. An emulsion composition comprising about 65-80 wt% of water, about 15-30 wt% of an ω-3 fatty acid oil and about 5-10 wt% of a surfactant is also provided.SELECTED DRAWING: None
