The compound includes a triptycene structure represented by formula (1) [in the formula, A1 and A2 each represent -S-, -O-, or the like; R1 and R3 each represent a substituted or unsubstituted 1-15C straight chain aliphatic hydrocarbon group or the like; n is an integer of 0 to 2; R4 and R5 each represent an electron attracting substituent having a Hammett's substituent constant, i.e., a σp value of 0 or greater; L11, L12, L21, and L22 each represent a single bond or a divalent linking group selected from the group consisting of -O-, -S- and the like, and a group comprised of a combination thereof; Z1 and Z2 each represent a divalent 5-membered or 6-membered cyclic linking group; R21 and R22 each represent a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group; and m1 and m2 each represent an integer of 0 to 2].
