The compound function mobile communication apparatus comprises two independent first and second user interfaces and two halves (outer coverings) 10, 11 capable of opening this apparatus from a folded state. In the state of folding the two halves 10, 11, the appearance of the apparatus is configured similarly to a usual mobile phone and its size is also similar to the usual mobile phone. The first user interface (telephone interface) is used to make a telephone conversation relating to call origination and call termination. When the two halves 10, 11 are opened, a large-sized liquid crystal display 12 and an alphanumeric keypad 15 can be operated and become visible. The second user interface is used to perform data processing for use as an electronic notebook or calendar. Furthermore, alphanumeric messages and graphic information are transmitted.
