To provide a novel anthrapyridone-based compound that is useful as a color material of an ink and excellent in moisture resistance.

A compound represented by the following general formula (1) (wherein R₁ each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a monoalkylaminoalkyl group or a dialkylaminoalkyl group; X represents a linking group; M each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an ammonium or an organic ammonium) is provided.
