To provide an easily producible composite material whose control in a heat flow direction is possible, and to provide its production method.
In at least one kind CF 11 selected from carbon fibers and carbon nanotubes, the fiber axial direction thereof is drawn-up, and they are sandwiched by metallic layers 12 at least comprising aluminum to compose a composite sheet 10. Then, the plurality of composite sheets 10 are stacked in such a manner that the fibrous axial direction is made the same or is made alternately different, and while performing heating at prescribed temperature, they are press-fitted and integrated under prescribed pressure so as to be composed into block-shaped composite materials 20, 30 and 40.
