To provide a compound for a rare-earth bond magnet having good dimension precision and a high magnetic property and a method for producing the compound.
The compound substantially comprises alloy powder of not less than 80 weight part and not more than 99.5 weight part having a major composition expressed in RαT100-(α+β+γ+δ)MβBγNδ in atomic percent (R is one or at least two of rare-earth elements including Y and necessarily contains Sm, T is Fe or Fe and Co, M is one or at least two of Al, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Cu, Ga, Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, and W, where 5≤α≤18, 0≤β≤10, 0≤γ≤4, and 4≤δ≤30 are satisfied) and binder of less than 20 weight part and not less than 0.5 weight part. The compound has fluidity according to JIS (Z2502) of 1.72 to 2.34 g/sec; a ratio a/b of the maximum diameter a to the minimum diameter b of more than 1.00 and not more than 3, where (a+b)/2 is 300 μm; and a rounded granular shape.
